Cardinal Creek Orleans
Creek valley connecting to Ottawa River
Creek parallels Trim Road, but a good distance on the east
Access points:
1. Follow Watters Road east from Trim Road. It will dip at a bridge over a dry stream bed. You can enter the stream bed to your right, just over the bridge. Then go under the bridge and follow the streambed downstream. The water reappears to your right. It is difficult to follow the stream at this point, but there is a trail on the right hand slope that leads to a nice waterfall.
2. access the creek where it crosses Old Montreal Road.
3. Cardinal Creek south of Watters. There is a developer's trail along the top to the west, but this is not very scenic. You could try to follow it from the dry creek bed, but it is not easy to follow
4. Start at the hydro corridor. Just follow the hydro lines from Trim Road. There are two creek valleys here, and you can follow one of them northwards for a fair distance. In the winter you can go from the hydro lines to Watters Road fairly easily.

Deep River Highway 17
Waterfront town
The waterfront within the town, featuring a pier with lighthouse/navigation beacon, a small marina along with other boats anchored in the bay, shoreline walkway with families of ducks and geese, sandy beaches, and views of the Laurentians across the Ottawa (well over 1 km wide at this point), provides an endless variety of photographic subjects through the changing seasons. Summertime in Deep River features the bi-annual Summerfest during the August long weekend (just missed it this year), various sporting events including annual cross-river swim, triathalon, soccer, baseball, ultimate frisbee ... . For those with a boat, the Ottawa River itself provides a lot of photo opportunities. In winter there are lots of great cross country ski trails (and ski races), a small downhill ski hill, snowmobile trails, ice fishing ... http://town.deepriver.on.ca/Photogallery/gallery.htm hint: Instead of Tim Horton's try stopping at the Laurentian View Dairy in Deep River (about 1 km west of Tim's) - the same family has run the business for several decades.
