The AV Group Showcase is an evening for Photo Club members who have participated in activities of the Club's AV Group to present some of their work from the last year.
Paul Harrison is a former member of the RA Club (late 1980s) and was for a time a Getty stock image photographer. He is currently the Official Photographer and Image Archivist for the Workers History Museum in Ottawa, and is the on-site supervisor of the Museum's Chaudiére project.
The Annual Awards Banquet is the culmination of the Photo Club’s season. Following a delicious banquet, both photographic and volunteer awards are presented, along with numerous door prizes. Highlights of the previous season are often featured as well as other surprises. Join your Photo Club friends for this fun activity!
Celebrating 75 Years tells the story of the RA Photo Club's successful growth from its beginnings upstairs from a downtown Ottawa café. In 40 pages with about 70 photos, it is a treasure trove of anecdotes tracing photography's development in the biggest photo club in Canada's capital. Based since the 1960s at the RA Centre on Riverside Drive, this lively group of activist photographers thrives on learning taste and technique from experts and especially each other.
By Photo Club members for present and past club members, this handy and handsome booklet is on sale weekly at Tuesday club meetings for just $10.
If you can't make it to meetings, you can have a copy mailed to you by the RA Centre for $15. Just phone Vanessa Normore (613-736-6226), give address and credit card details, and your copy will be on its way.
