\nI know. I know. Three weeks after the Open House and I\u2019m just getting around to telling you about it? Well, I\u2019ve got my excuses and I\u2019m sticking to them!
\nI lost some Prints. Yes, Prints. The ones from the Print exhibit. Of course you remember the wonderful Print Exhibit. 85 prints, 33 photographers, 194 votes for the \u201cPeoples\u2019 Choice Award\u201d. There was a runaway winner. You will have to attend the Christmas Party to find out who it is!
\nBut back to missing Prints. How could I tell you about a fabulously successful Open House
\n\u2026entertaining AV shows, our well equipped traditional dark room, or about the launch of our new, spacious Studio and all the workshops planned for its use. I couldn\u2019t bring myself to talk about the Nature, Urban, Fine Arts and all those other sub groups and their plans for the coming year either. So what did I lose that caused me so much concern? Not my own prints. Not prints by photographers who don\u2019t care if they get their prints back (there are 4 or 5 photographers who have not picked up their prints yet)No. I lost the print that was to be given away as a prize. Remember the ballot in the Print Exhibit room? \u201cVote for your favourite print. There will be draw and you may win a copy of that print\u201d. That print. At the end of the evening, Hamid Bayanati\u2019s ballot for David Wray\u2019s print, “Eager Egret” was drawn . Since neither of them was there at the time, the print was put aside and\u2026\u2026\u2026eventually found (It\u2019s a good thing the RA doesn\u2019t throw things out!)
\nAll\u2019s well that ends well. I would like to thank David Wray for generously donating his print and for putting up with me. And Hamid Bayanati finally received his print at the Oct 16 meeting. (Congratualtions Hamid).\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/em>
\nHowever the next time I find my car keys in the sugar bowl, the RAPC will have to find another Open House Convener.
