As many of you know, the City of Ottawa has agreed to allow the RAPC and other
\nOttawa photo clubs periodic access to the Archives Exhibition space in the new City
\nArchives building on Tallwood Drive. Our next exhibit in this space will be a joint effort
\nwith the Camera Club of Ottawa. Bill McCloskey, the Chair of the RAPC, has asked me
\nto organize the RAPC\u2019s participation in the next exhibition which will take place from
\nNovember 6 to December 27.
\nIf you are interested in participating in this event, please let me know, no later than
\nOctober 25, by sending an email to Ott.Archives@raphotoclub.ca.<\/strong> Your email should
\ninclude thumbnails of the photographs you propose to display. (We need image
\nthumbnails for marketing purposes.)
\nThe requirement<\/strong>
\nEach exhibitor must provide five framed and matted photos (printing and matting the
\nresponsibility of the participating photographers) to hang in the Gallery from November
\n6 to December 27
\nGood news! The RAPC has purchased twelve 16 x 20 frames specifically<\/em><\/strong>
\n for RAPC exhibitors to use who may not have their own frames<\/em><\/strong>
\nEach exhibitor must be available to hang their photos on Monday, November 5, between the hours of 6:00 to 9:00
\nWhile the tear-down date and times are yet to be determined, each exhibitor (or delegate) will be responsible for taking down their photos
\nThere is no overarching theme for the exhibit, but it is preferable that each photographer\u2019s
\nimages be thematically linked
\nFrames should be either 16 x 20 or 20 x 24<\/strong>
\nEach photographer will be expected to prepare and display an artist\u2019s statement, titles and
\nprices of each photograph and contact information
\nAdditional information<\/strong>
\nThe photo exhibit should be looked upon as an opportunity to sell your prints and it will be your responsibility to set the price you want for them. Note, however, that the City requires a 15% commission<\/strong> on the selling price of the artist\u2019s work. Exhibitors will be chosen by lottery. We will note the names of those whose names are not drawn and develop a list of potential participants for future exhibits. The RA requires any RAPC member who exhibits in the Archive Gallery to sign an agreement about their participation.<\/strong> We will assume that any member who indicates an interest in exhibiting
\nwill agree to this. The agreement will be forwarded to those whose names are drawn in the
\nlottery. Exhibitors must sign the agreement, and deliver it the East Desk of the RA, attention Sharron Malott before they will be permitted to hang their prints.<\/strong>
