data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Avant-garde Competition submissions were judged on Thursday November 25th, 2010 and the presentation night was on November 30th, 2010.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The Judges were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diane Lepage (Member of the Camera Club of Ottawa for 17 years, and avid Nature photographer)<\/li>\n<li>Yannis Souris (Recognized three years in a row with Photographer of the Year awards in Ottawa)<\/li>\n<li>Robin Spencer (Recognized as the Master of the Soft Focus Portrait, and has many national and international awards to his name)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some stats:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>23 prints and 140 digital slides where submitted for a total of 163<\/li>\n<li>95 junior level submissions with an average score of 17.8<\/li>\n<li>44 intermediate level submissions with an average score of 18.75<\/li>\n<li>21 senior level submissions with an average score of 19.81<\/li>\n<li>3 master level submissions with an average score of 20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Print Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Junior<br \/>\n1st place (2 way tie):\u00a0 Andr\u00e9 Faubert, Marc Latreille<\/p>\n<p>Intermediate<br \/>\n1st place:\u00a0 Mark Guzewski\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digital Slide Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Slide of the Night:\u00a0 Mermaid, by Chandra Wiegand<\/p>\n<p>Junior<br \/>\n1st place:\u00a0 Chandra Wiegand<br \/>\n2nd place:\u00a0 Chak Wong<br \/>\n3rd place:\u00a0 Robert Steklasa<\/p>\n<p>Honourable Mentions:\u00a0 Richard Breker, Rob Fillion, Marc Gaudet, Jeanne Laux, Lise Pressault, Robert Steklasa, Robert Turner<\/p>\n<p>Intermediate<br \/>\n1st place:\u00a0 Gerald Bloch (2 entries)<br \/>\n3rd place:\u00a0 Menno Spijker<br \/>\nHonourable Mentions:\u00a0 Jayni Bloch, Abigail Gossage<\/p>\n<p>There were no promotions from this competition.<\/p>\n<p>The next competition submission deadline is January 18th and the topic is &#8220;Nature with the hand of
