I received the message below from Peter Turnley<\/a>; I haven’t taken one of his workshops (although if I had the time I could think of worse ways than spending May 15th – 21st, 2011 than on his Paris workshop) but I do own a print of the photo above.<\/p>\n

From Peter Turnley:<\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to wish you a wonderful new year. In 2011, I will be leading and teaching street photography workshops in some amazing venues around the world.
\n<\/em>As the New Year begins, I wanted to let you know about this list in case you may want to join one of these very exciting workshops in some of the most visually compelling spots in the world.
\nIn all of my workshops I focus on helping each student find their own photographic voice and vision in the spirit of making spontaneous, authentic images of daily life in the context of the wonderful venues where the workshops are held. My workshops offer students practical, technical, philosophical, and human tips and encouragement in their quest to become more comfortable photographing people and the life of a city. Most importantly, I promote a spirit of fraternity and mutual cooperation between my students\u2014there is no competition. Students are encouraged to take risks in order to grow as visual communicators.
\nThis year\u2019s workshops will be held in Rio, Buenos Aires, Seville, Istanbul, Paris, New York, Prague, and Venice.

On my website, you will also be able to see galleries of students\u2019 past work, as well as student testimonials about the individual workshops.

If you\u2019d like to get out of the cold this early winter, the upcoming Rio-Carnival, Buenos Aires, and Seville workshops offer great opportunities for a wonderful winter escape.
