{"id":18030,"date":"2014-02-11T10:22:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T15:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raphotoclub.ca\/wp\/?p=18030"},"modified":"2014-02-11T10:28:02","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T15:28:02","slug":"ottawa-orchid-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raphotoclub.ca\/wp\/?p=18030","title":{"rendered":"Ottawa Orchid Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ottawa Orchid Society is pleased to invite anyone interested in displaying artwork in the form of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, pottery, needlepoint, stained glass, quilting, or other media to participate in our annual orchid show held at the Kanata Recreation Complex on April 19, 20, 2014. In addition to regular art and photography entry classes, we have a 2014 challenge class: orchid-themed fine art \u201cin the style of Klimt\u201d \u2013 it is up to the creativity of each entrant to interpret this theme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE MAIN THEME OF EACH ENTRY MUST BE ORCHIDS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rules of the Exhibition:\u00a0Primary subject: Orchids. Registration: All work must be preregistered <strong>by April 8<\/strong>. Limit of 4 entries per artist; 1 entry per student artist (under 18 years)<\/p>\n<p>Set-up time: Drop off your art between 4 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014. All two-dimensional work must be suitably framed, wired, ready for hanging.<\/p>\n<p>Take-down time: 5:00 p.m. \u2013 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Judging &amp; fees: There are no fees to exhibit.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a0registration form and Art\u00a0Show information <strong>will soon be posted<\/strong> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ottawaorchidsociety.com\/\">www.ottawaorchidsociety.com<\/a>, \u00a0where we have lots of information about our group, orchids and our annual shows.<\/p>\n<p>Advertising: Artist\u2019s business cards can be displayed once judging is complete.<\/p>\n<p>Tagging: All work must have the price, name and address of the artist on the back.<\/p>\n<p>Sales: Indicate the price including HST or NFS (Not for Sale) on the registration form. You must be prepared to accept cash or a cheque with two pieces of ID. The show takes a 10% commission. We will have a volunteer on hand to conduct transactions \u2013 but don\u2019t be disappointed \u2013 sales are slow. Enter for the fun of exhibiting with 2,000 blooming plants.<\/p>\n<p>Insurance: Our volunteers are very careful and problems are rare, but we are not responsible for loss or damage to exhibits.
