KAP is a relatively low-cost, portable and environmentally friendly way to achieve aerial photographs. It is not without risks and moments of anxiety. It can also be time consuming and often physically demanding. Composition control may have to be sacrificed in exchange for unique perspective but KAP is a great approach for capturing unique documentary images. With experience one can also produce striking artistic compositions not visible from the ground.

About Rob Huntley:
Rob lives in the Highland Park/McKellar Park community of Ottawa. His primary photographic interests are landscape and travel photography plus a somewhat novel approach to aerial photography using a remote-controlled camera suspended below a kite line. He is always looking for unique angles whether they be aerial shots or images taken
closer to the ground. Rob exhibits his work during the West End Studio Tour each year during the last two weekends of September. He is a member of the Camera Club of
Ottawa and has given presentations at his club as well as at the Orléans Photo Club. Rob’s stock images can be found in the catalogues of leading agencies such as Getty Images and iStockphoto. He does custom aerial photography on commission.
