The Ottawa Orchid Society holds its annual show on April 20-21 at the Nepean Sportsplex and extends an invitation to local photographers to come and photograph orchids, and also to participate and exhibit their work in their annual Ottawa Orchid Show. For ORCHIDOPHILIA poster, click here.

The show displays over 2000 live orchids and a star attraction each year is the Orchid Art Gallery which features an adjudicated competition for orchid-themed fine art, fine crafts and photography. In 2012, a number of RA Photo Club members won prizes in various photography classes.
There are four classes for photographers to enter: orchids in nature, cultivated orchids, digital painting and the theme class this year, Orchids and People. Exhibitors are asked to preregister by April 10. There is no fee for entries. Click here for Art Gallery Form.
Should artists offer their work for sale and find a buyer, the Society charges a 10% commission. Additional information on entry classes, and the show is posted at www.ottawaorchidsociety.com.
For those who wish to photograph orchids, the show holds a special session on Sunday morning (9-11am) when tripods are permitted.
