Having realized a love for the arts early in life, Reda Sedki love for the art began studying photography as a teenager in Cairo, Egypt. His love for the art motivated him to practice it as a hobby his entire life, as he worked professionally as an engineer. He photographed his travels in close to 30 countries in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
After settling in Ottawa 1988, Reda continued to study photography at the Ottawa School of Art and Algonquin College. Reda soon acquired a special interest for digital photography and began in the late nineties to realize that it is the future of imaging. This motivated him to practice and study extensively to enhance his knowledge and refine his skills.
Reda has been teaching digital photography, Photoshop and recently Photoshop Lightroom to beginners and intermediate users since 2002. He is an active member of the Camera Club of Ottawa and RA Photography Club and is an award winner of several competitions in the Ottawa area. He has previously exhibited his work at several community and commercial galleries in Ottawa. Reda also is a member of the Loft 1489 Portrait Studio group.
Reda Sedki uses digital painting to express his fond reactions to the diversity of Canada’s population, nature and environment. At first, the effect of the digital images raises many questions from the art lovers, contemplating whether the work is Photography or painting.
