David Haggarty
Photography has been his main hobby for over 20 years. David has worked as a semi professional for more than 15 years photographing the Ottawa folk and Jazz festivals, bonspiels winners, marathons and group portraits.

David likes all types of photography from but now focuses on travel photography. He has studied photography taking many courses from local photographers like Gary Black, Phil Pocock, Ken Ginn, Jon Joosten and David Barbour as well as courses at Algonquin College and Carleton University.

David is a senior member of the RA Photo club and he served in many executive positions with the club including twice as chairman. David served as chairman and fund-raiser for two Canadian Camera conferences held in Ottawa in 1998 and 2003. Both conferences provided the RA and CAPA with substantial profits. He has served on the Board of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA) for six years including two as president.

Dave has been honoured by the Ottawa Folk Festival for fifteen years as a volunteer photographer. He has received the clubs’ Alice Gillies award in 2001, and in 2011, CAPA awarded him an Honourary Fellowship in recognition of Distinguished Contribution to Canadian Photography.

Vanessa Dewson
With a degree in Image Arts from Ryerson UniversityVanessa has worked for many years in non-profit organizations gaining skill as a graphic designer. She now runs her own photography and graphic design business in Ottawa.

Vanessa is nationally accredited in:
– Children & Infant Portrait
– High Key Children Portrait
– Nature,Pictorial/Scenic
– Wedding Story
with the Professional Photographers of Canada.

Currently the vice-chair of the PPOC – Eastern Ontario Branch, Vanessa enjoys being part of the vibrant community of photographers in Ottawa.

Recently she began hosting photo tours having just gone to India in November and is looking forward to taking another group to Iceland in July with Photo Tour Trekkers (Journey to the Land of Fire and Ice). Vanessa also offers small group classes, private tutoring or business mentoring to aspiring photo enthusiasts and budding professionals.

Ed Shapiro
Ed started his apprenticeship at the age of 14 in a local photography studio in New York City.This years marks his 53rd year in the business of professional photography.

Currently Ed does fine portraits, commercial and commercial-industrial photography operating out of his studio in Hintonburg.

Ed has a BSC in Applied Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. He holds masterships with associations and is a fellow with the Royal Photographic Society of the U.K. In the mid 60’s Ed served with the U.S army in Vietnam as an aerial and reconnaissance photographer.

Ed teaches photography on a private tutorial basis.
