Hello, I can’t remember when my husband Gerhard and I joined the RA Camera club, as it was known then. We made many friends and especially enjoyed the nature club, outings, slide shows and get-togethers. I remember Paul Holland who kindly invited us all to his home to introduce us to the magic of slide shows set to music, It was the beginning of CD’s and it opened a whole new world for us.
Gerhard has passed away now and I live in a wheelchair. Occasionally I join Cathy Kelly, Carolyn Molson and Barbara Lapointe for lunch. Bruce Kalbfleish comes to see me and we talk about old times. Bill and Barbara Dexter, who now live in Victoria., BC, are still on my radar and we exchange emails. It’s wonderful to think we’ve made so many friends through the RA.
After I had the stroke I could no longer roam to find my beloved subjects, and took up watercolor painting. Recently the arthritis in my hands has become so bad that painting became too difficult. So now I have returned to my first love – writing. Now I spend hours pecking away at my iPad, but still cherish all the memories the camera club blessed me with. Sorry I can’t come to the Anniversary dinner, but I already have another commitment.
My very best greetings to all of my former photo companions, and thank you for your support and friendship.
