Catherine has been a photographer for almost 60 years. In all this time she has never been able to decide what subject she likes the best. As long as she can photograph anything from architecture to animals, she is happy.
Although she has taken some courses from well-known Canadian professional photographers, most of what she has learned has been from the talented members of the RA Photo Club in Ottawa to which she has belonged for 40 years.
Catherine is a club life member, has served in many roles from club photographer to chairperson and won an RA President’s Award for her devoted service.
Nearly four years ago, she moved from the city of Ottawa to Lanark, a small village of 800 souls in the country. Living there is so different from the city and, whenever possible, she explores the rural roads and meets the unique people living there. She has just returned from her latest exploratory project, a photo tour of China.
Catherine Kelly describes her presentation as The RA Photo Club: Our Glorious Past.
