Gilles had a long and fruitful career in the Federal Public Service before retiring in 2007. He worked on several management boards of non-profit organizations and is currently the immediate Past-President on the RA Board of Directors.
Gilles has been an active member of the RA Photo Club since 2003 and is currently Vice-Chair of the club. Gilles is an experienced Certified CAPA judge, an eclectic shooter at ease with nature, sports, dance, travel and event photography, such as the Ottawa Bluesfest.
