Hello,
My father (John Dixie, who is retired) was a professional photographer with his own studio and darkroom in the 1960s-1980s. Among his household belongings that are for sale this weekend (June 22 and June 23) are a number of vintage photography items.
Some may be of interest to your club members either as collectibles (an Adams Retouching Machine perhaps), or in some cases as still functional in a digital age. A 24 x 24 paper cutter, or a Seal-Dry Mounting Press, and no doubt many treasures you would recognize long before me.
I am attaching a very old inventory from 1965 that was later updated (after a fashion), but it is just a guide. Some pieces were lost or given up over time for certain. I know for sure he doesn’t have any Lindhof cameras, just a ‘tripod’ camera stand with pan head, and a “Multifocus optical Viewfinder for Super Technika 4 x 5“.
The sale is being held in Richmond, Ontario, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday June 22, and between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. Address: 118 Cockburn Street (at the corner of Ottawa Street) behind South Carleton Hugh School. There is also a listing on Kijiji: ID 389948569.
Thanks for sharing this information.
