2. RAPC Gallery Nature Theme Show – Call for Submissions
From Luc Delorme (RAPC Gallery Coordinator):
Hello fellow RAPC members,
The time has come to update the RAPC Gallery, and with the many nature-centric activities of the past few months, it’s a great time to have a Nature gallery.
Since the gallery doesn’t have to follow the rules of the nature group, I will relax the criteria for photos regarding the presence of the hand of man. Pictures showing the hand of man will be accepted, as long as the main subject depicts nature, unaltered by man. For example, a landscape with a fence at one side would be acceptable, as long as the fence is not the main subject. A log that was obviously cut with a saw would not be accepted.
I invite all members of the club, newcomers and veterans, to submit photos for the gallery. Up to three photographs may be submitted by e-mail, to gallery@raphotoclub.ca. Please keep e-mail submissions to 1024 pixels on the longest dimension. The deadline for submitting by e-mail is Thursday November 25th at 8PM.
Once all submissions are received, they will be reviewed and entrants will be notified by Saturday November 27th whether or not their image(s) has been selected for display in the gallery. Prints of selected images should be handed in on Tuesday December 7th at the regular meeting, for display starting on December 9th.
Technical requirements are as follows:
-The printed photograph must be matted to 16″ x 20″ to fit in the gallery frames
-The size of the photograph itself should be at least 5″ x 7″
-Foamcore should not be used as a backing for photographs as it does not fit in the frames. Matboard is a better backing for gallery pictures.
I encourage anyone with questions or comments to send them to gallery@raphotoclub.ca. I’m always willing to help fellow club members in print creation and related matters, so feel free to contact me.
I look forward to receiving many submissions for our diverse membership for the upcoming gallery!
