To replace the RA Photo Club Exhibition, the City of Ottawa’s Archive Gallery has to drag out its big gun, in fact the biggest-ever for Ottawa, Yousuf Karsh.
This time on display are not the iconic photos of the world-famous, but “portraits of prominent Ottawa figures and never-before-seen portraits of Ottawa residents”, i.e. his paying customers. Still they give a 50-year retrospective on Karsh’s craft, 1935-1985.
All the photographs on display are owned by the City of Ottawa Archives.
