Two RA Photo club events took place over this past weekend and each was successful despite the possibility of poor weather and other minor mishaps (both events had models that couldn’t make it because of illness). On Saturday, Denis Duchenes led a group of photographers on a shoot in Gatineau Park. The afternoon was a mixture of bright sun and clouds which made for some interesting lighting. Denis’s workshop emphasized natural lighting with only the help of a reflector or diffuser. Camera settings and finding the right light made for a great afternoon. The Natural Light and Beauty Group is holding another event on October 27th so check out the Forum Post and the Events Signup if interested.

On Sunday, Howard Sandler had generally overcast weather and one model with eight shooters to contend with. It turned out just fine as Howard emphasized both natural light shooting (including use of a reflector) and helped with the mysteries of camera flash. It was an excellent exercise in using your camera settings, flash settings and the use of fill-flash. Judith, our model, did a marvellous job .
