Some notes from organisers Bill McCloskey & Freeman Keats:
On December 7, instead of a regular club meeting, we will be hosting the annual Interclub AV Showcase night in Clark Hall. At this event, members of four Ottawa-area photo clubs submit for display an AV production. The clubs are the Camera Club of Ottawa, Club Polarisé, Orléans Photo Club, and the R.A. Photo Club. We will be hosting the other clubs with a cash bar that will open at 6:30pm, although for the first ten or fifteen minutes the room may be darkened temporarily as the projection equipment is set up and tested. The program will begin promptly at 7:30; there will be no club announcements that night. We estimate the program will finish about 9:45-9:50 pm, including a break of about 20 minutes mid-way through the evening and a brief introductions of the producers.
This year we have 23 AV productions from the four clubs. Shows range from about two to eight minutes in length, with the average being about 4.5 minutes. Eleven of the productions are from our club; in alphabetical order, the producers from our club this year are Guillaume Bissonnette, David Clow, Marc Gaudet, David Hanington, Catherine Kelly, Bill McCloskey, Suresh Mehta, Ed Overstreet, Jim Robertson & Gwen Williams, Pam Skinner and Bill Young. You will see some excellent work and a wide variety of subject matter, music and AV techniques. We think you will find it an inspiring and enjoyable evening.
We would appreciate if members would preserve the first two or three rows of seating for the show producers and their guests. Also, a reminder: all of the AV producers spent a lot of time and trouble picking, recording and synchronizing images to music and other sounds. Out of consideration for them and for the audience, please leave at home, turn off, mute, or set to vibrate-only mode, any cell phones, pagers or other devices you might carry with you that could otherwise beep and disrupt the presentations.
