  1. I watched the movie today and would recommend it - even though it leaves at least as much un-found as found.
    John Maloof comes across as almost as unusual as Maier herself at times; it really isn't clear what motivated him to dive into this as deeply as he has (although everyone who gets to enjoy her pictures should be glad he did).
    There are also parallels with the stories of Margaret Watkins, E.J.Bellocq & Disfarmer so I wonder a) when the next discovery like this will happen and b) will there ever be a digital equivalent?

    1. A p.s. to my comment above; google "what does art look like site:wsj.com" without the " marks for a nice short piece that discusses Maier's place (or lack of same) in the art history of photography. I found the link first at The Online Photographer.
