RA Studio workshops to return for another season with the lead off – Lighting 101

Building on the success of last year’s Studio Workshop series, the Studio and Life Faces and Figures leadership groups are pleased to announce that we will be running a full slate of workshops including introduction, intermediate and advanced level subjects. The full schedule is outlined below.

Workshops will be open to ALL club members, and not just studio members. In the past we have limited non-studio members to one workshop a season. We will be ceasing this policy this year and allowing all club members unlimited access to all workshops (with the exception of the studio member orientation workshops and the icebreaker series of workshops; those two will still be for studio members only.) however, due to increases in studio costs, and to compensate for studio gear wear and tear, non-studio members will be required to pay a 15.00 per workshop premium.

The kick off to this year’s workshop series, part of our Studio Lighting Techniques Series entitled Lighting 101, runs Sunday September 14th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Seating is limited but there are a few seats available.

Studio Lighting 101 will start you on your path to effectively using studio lighting equipment. This is a FULL-DAY workshop with a lighting theory and demonstration session in the morning, followed by a break for lunch, the a full afternoon practical session involving a fully staffed (model, makeup artist) photo shoot.

Subjects covered in this workshop include:

· A brief history on lighting techniques
· a session on how to deconstruct lighting in a existing photo
· basic lighting ratios
· using basic modifiers
· one, two and three light set ups

The morning instruction session will be followed by an afternoon practical shoot using one of the talented model from our model pool.

Cost – 45.00 for studio members, 60.00 for non-studio members
