The Hand of Man in Nature Competition submissions were judged on Thursday January 20th 2011 and the presentation night was on January 25th 2011.
The Judges were:
Eric Bawden – Developed his first roll of film in his home bathroom at age 14, joined the RA Camera Club in 1964, became a photo technician with the Ottawa Civic Hospital and later took over the photo unit. He then initiated a new Medical Photo Department at CHEO. In 1987 he started a successful advertising photo studio in Ottawa and created Capital School Photo.
Suzanne Bird – Newspaper photographer for over 10 years, member of the Professional Photographers of America, and now specializing in photography of animals with their owners.
Pierre Gauthier – RAPC member for 17 years and leader of the Nature Group for 16 years, and CAPA trained judge.
Some stats:
28 prints and 149 digital slides where submitted for a total of 177
Note: 2 prints and 9 digital slides were disqualified reducing the total entries to 166 (disqualified entries can be resubmitted in future competitions and are not accounted for in the statistics which follow)
