If you are a photographer who is interested in studio work, your club has a happy palette of studio activities this season.
The Life, Faces and Figures Group and the Studio Group offer workshops and sessions in the club studio with content as basic as Lighting 101, to Advanced Nudes, to Planning and Shooting a Specific Theme.
The workshops are announced via the club E-Mail Announce system well in advance.
On October 18, Wilf Oberthier, assisted by Geoffrey Haddon and Mike MacKay, led a workshop entititled Portrait Essentials. Wilf based the session on Monte Zucker’s 1-2-3 Method for portrait photography. The participants had lots of opportunity to practice the concepts and shoot the model Jennifer Mostrey.
The 1-2-3 Method is ONE lighting setup, TWO poses, THREE camera positions. This easy-to-learn starting point provides photographers, beginning and advanced, with a reference point for posing.
Those who part in this workshop would come away with an increased confidence in their ability to provide a subject with an attractive photograph.
So now, who can guess what Wilf is saying in the photograph?

"I was taking pictures since I was this high," said Wilf.
"Mike, Geof! Help me up!" cried Wilf. 😉
Thanks to Wild and Mike for a great seminar.
