The photography of ruins has been around almost as long as photography itself. Though disturbing, images of past cultures elicit a certain fascination. Can images of ruins aestheticize decline and perhaps remove some of the fear associated with the inevitabilityof social devolution?
This exhibition explores the remains of several New World cultures that have gone before us and some of those that are currently fading.
