Planning Day

If you don’t know where you are going how will you get there?
This is a mantra of strategic planners and the RAPC Executive decided to act on it and spend some time thinking about the future of our Club.

Fifteen Club members, mostly from the Executive and Leaders group, spent all day on Saturday, 16th April asking questions and proposing answers about the road ahead for the RAPC. The group was very fortunate that new members Jean Carr & Pierre Chartier participated in the session and offered the more veteran members a fresh perspective throughout the day.

The Executive have to collate and digest the notes from the day and then share them with the wider membership but a few themes that ran through the day seemed to be how to promote & encourage member engagement in the Club’s activities (nothing happens without a volunteer’s efforts), how we can better focus our communication channels and how can we better get to know our members in such a large group.

While this was a long day for everyone involved the work has really only just started; to make it worthwhile everyone has to maintain the momentum and turn the many great ideas and proposals into concrete actions. Stay tuned for more news on this.

The day was held at the RA Centre and organised by Pierre Gauthier, Mike Giovinazzo & Robert Matyas and led by professional facilitator Raphael Amato (pictured above) – this team did a mass of advance work that was essential in making the event a success.
