On Sunday August 21st, the RAPC’s Urban Group is having a day to go and photograph the region. The idea is to represent Ottawa in all its diversity.
Get a carload of people together and let’s go shoot the day. If you’re looking for a ride, not a problem. Sign up then show up the morning of the event, we’ll make room for you somewhere in one of the vehicles.
We’ll meet up in the parking lot of the RA center at 10 AM. Each car then goes off to explore the region in the way of their choice. We will then meet back at the RA’s Fieldhouse for a meal and wrap up at 5 PM.
The idea of the steel shutter tour is to stop every 20 minutes, or so, and snap photos of what is where you stop. You can have themes or not. Creativity is always a bonus.
Last year, we suggested that people shoot the Pontiac. This year, it’s wide open, shoot anywhere you want around the region. Let’s try to represent one day in the Ottawa area.
We’ll collect the best of everybody’s images and turn them into a group AV show to be shown at the club at the Urban Group’s evening presentation next year. We may have other opportunities to show some prints from this day as well.

Let’s try to represent one day in the Ottawa area.
Can one start shooting earlier than 10 AM and stop later than 5 PM, for the photos to be counted for August 21?
If you have your car load ready to go earilier in the day, please be my guest.
If you're shooting solo, you may also go earlier or later in the day.
However, this is as much a social event as a photo event, so we'd love to have everybody at the Fieldhouse for a meal and wrap up at 5 PM if possible.
