Fancy That…

…A photo club without a club photographer!  Hard to believe but your Club is currently without a photographer to take pictures at Club events.

The role of Club photographer offers you a great opportunity to practice your candid portrait & event photography skills in a non-threatening environment (after all, Club members aren’t likely to object to being photographed are they!) .  If, like our presenter tonight, you are keen to try people photography but are a bit apprehensive this is a fantastic way to ease yourself into it.  All you are going to need is a camera and smile!

If you’d like to give it a try please talk to our Chair Bob Matyas at a meeting or drop him an email at chair@raphotoclub.ca .

Featured comment from Luc Delorme (RAPC Gallery Coordinator):

I wouldn’t mind doing some photography for club events, but I’m very reluctant of officially taking on the duties because of the requirement for the photographer to be at all events or find a replacement if he/she canot be present. Many people have variable schedules that can’t always be known weeks in advance, and don’t have the time to find a replacement if they can’t be there.

I would prefer to see a system with a pool of photographers, and photographers within that pool can volunteer for events that fit their availability schedule.

Good points, anyone else care to jump into the pool?
