From Lynne Mathieu and Lise Presseault (RAPC AV Group co-chairs):
The AV group meets five or six times a year from October to April with the objective to give the AV group members an opportunity to explore the latest software tools in slideshow productions.
To ensure that you get up to date information regarding the events and topics covered at the meetings, club members are encouraged to sign up to the AV announce list by sending an e-mail to AV-announce-join@lists.raphotoclub.ca .
This year’s program will explore various softwares that will initiate members to creative tools and effects to maximize their creative potential in the production of slideshows
New members are encouraged to join the group and start working on a production and participate in the various events : Interclub AV showcase, the Spring AV Showcase, the Open house slideshow presentations and the «AV group Has Talent» evening.
Program Highlights (see the AV forum-meetings for a detailed description of meetings)
Howard Sandler will introduce members to the Pro Show Gold software. Last year participants appreciated the workflow that Howard presented and left the session confident that they had the information they required to start working on their personal slideshow productions.
Mike Giovinazzo has volunteered to explore various video software tools with members of the AV group. This presentation complements the Pro Show Producer which is planned for February 2011.
Ed Overstreet will introduce members to ProShow Producer this year, a software that facilitates the integration of video from a camera to a slideshow. ProShow Producer was the software of choice in many AV productions at the AV Has Talent evening in the spring.
The AV Has Talent evening is fun evening where members of the AV group have an opportunity to present their slideshows in a small group environment. This was a first attempt at hosting this event and it proved to be a an opportunity to see some great AV productions. What will this year bring with the integration of animation and videos? Mark May 25 2011 in your calendars and start working on your slideshows for this fun evening.
An evening will also be dedicated to explore the PicturesToExe (PTE) software. We take this opportunity to thank all presenters because without them it would be impossible to put such an exciting program together! Thank you Mike, Ed, Jim, Howard, Nix, Dave and Abby for supporting the 2009-2010 program of the AV group.
