The Ottawa School of Art Orleans Campus in conjunction with the X Ottawa Photography Festival is proud to present “Inclusion / Exclusion: To Remain in Place…” from September 16 to October 16 at the OSA gallery in the Shenkman Arts Centre
Vernissage will be held the afternoon of September 26 from 2pm to
5pm.
‘Inclusion / Exclusion: To Remain in Place…’ acts as both visual documentation
and anecdotal exhibit of various dynamics of difference in our society today.
Divisions of class, sexuality, and gender are addressed through stark
photojournalistic styles as well as within metaphorical subject matter, while
the artificiality of urban environments and their subsequent states of decay
are questioned.
‘To Remain in Place…’ is intended as ironic provocation to the viewer to transgress their own boundaries and perspectives on ‘otherness’, while celebrating our diversity and our shared humanity.
The exhibition features new work by photographers Maureen Chaume, Francesco Esposito, Jonathan Lorange, Daniel Marchand and Maureen Murphy.
