Work from four Club members – three of them Darkroom members – has been short-listed for the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa’s (SPAO) fourth annual part-time student contest and exhibition.
The photographers are Judy Dupont, Michelle Hak Hepburn, Jerry Lam & Vladislav Ivantchenko. Judy, Michelle and Vladislav each had one image selected while the judges picked two of Jerry’s prints.
The prints ran the gamut as far as technique goes with gelatin-silver prints (from Michelle and Vladislav along with one of Jerry’s), an inkjet from Jerry and a tea-toned cyanotype from Judy. Congratulations to all four for having their photography recognised in this way!
The work of the four Club members along with the other short-listed pieces is on show at the SPAO Red Wall Gallery until 19th September 2011. (Monday-Friday, 11:00-18:00, Saturday, 10:00-15:00, Sundays and late evenings by appointment or by chance. The Red Wall Gallery is located in SPAO at 168 Dalhousie, at the corner of Bruyère, in the Byward Market.)

Glad to see we have good printers in the club. I hope they will make these and others of their works available for exhibition at the new Ottawa Archives Gallery when the RA and Ottawa Camera Clubs take over programming it next February.
