Slide Showcase – Ed Overstreet
The first slide showcase of the new season will be right after the announcements at the
meeting on Tuesday, October 11. New members, and returning members unfamiliar with them, should consult the submission guidelines, which may be found from the link at the bottom of the “Slide Showcase” link at the lower right side of the home page of the club’s website. Please note these are last year’s guidelines (a replacement hasn’t been posted yet), but they haven’t changed from last year except the dates.
Specifically, to be included in the October 11 showcase, members must:
a) provide up to six film slides to me at the October 4 meeting, before the meeting or during the break; OR
b) submit up to six digital slides to the Slide Showcase Submission page, accessible from the home page of the website, no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday October 6 – that’s 12:00 as defined by the web server’s clock, not necessarily yours, so be a bit early; OR
c) if you wish to submit up to three panorama-format slides to be projected and panned through, OR a video clip up to 42 seconds in length, your submission must be given to me on a CD or DVD at the October 4 meeting, since the website won’t accept either kind of submission.
Also, you must send me an email no later than noon this coming Saturday, October 1, telling me of your intention to submit a panorama or video entry, so I can discuss the technical details with you by email before Tuesday October 4.
We’re all looking forward to your submissions! But please read the guidelines and limitations on number of submissions, formatting, and comments if any to be read by me.
