Dempster Highway ©Sylvie Sabourin

Ottawa Public Library Laurier & Metcalfe
March 2012
Horizons Sylvie Sabourin
Horizon: visual limit beyond which the eye can no longer see
and the imagination takes over to create worlds to discover,
hopes, fears and emotions to experience; landmark, close or far,
that allows us to situate an object, to have an idea of time by
looking at the sun, to know where are the here and there…

We Are Them

Alliance Française Gallery 352 McLaren
16 March – 20 April
We Are Them Asif Rehman
Travel has introduced me to people all over the world. Time and time again I have been treated with kindness and hospitality as a stranger far away from home. People’s openness and warmth initially surprised me, and then opened a door into the richness of their lives. In spite of differences that exist between people and cultures, we share the same emotions and are connected by an underlying humanity.

All in the Family Milutin Gubash
Artist’s talk 4 March 2pm
Serbian-born, Montreal-based artist Milutin Gubash casts himself (and his family and friends) in his work, using this motley crew to tell stories that blur the real and the fantastic, art and everyday life, fact and fiction, and the past and present

La Petite Mort Gallery 306 Cumberland
3-8 March
UN/SEEN 12 SPAO second year students, curated by Guy Berube & Michael Tardioli
Vernissage Saturday 3 March, 7-10pm
Showing works of art for the first time is an intimate process. The act of unveiling places the artist in a vulnerable and uncertain position. The photographers exhibited here generously opened their portfolios to our eyes, inviting the risks and uncertainties of revelation, reaction, and judgment.

Tracanage
