RA Photo Club Award Nominations

WHAT MAKES THE PHOTO CLUB WORK?
Do you know what makes this Club fun for you and for me? Lots and lots of volunteers! (60 or 70 of us, at the time of writing.) And how do we thank these people for making our Club what it is? We nominate them for an award! So, what ARE these two non-photographic awards that Club workers can earn this year? Well, first of all, there is the Outstanding Contribution Award, for people who have contributed (not money, but time and effort) to the RAPC during their first five years of membership. Up to five of these awards can be given each year.
The Alice Gillies Award is for someone who has been a member for at least five years. Only one Alice Gillies Award a year is given. (RA Centre Awards will not be offered this season. Their awards are available only every two years.) It’s now time for the Awards Committee to solicit nominations for these non-photographic awards. Please nominate volunteers whose work has helped you and others enjoy the Club. You don’t need to nominate someone for a specific award; you just need to nominate them. The Committee will determine which award they are eligible for. The deadline is Tuesday 10 April 2012.
Nominees will be asked to complete a standard RAPC resumé form (thus they will know they have been nominated). Then the Awards Committee will rank the nominees according to a point system and will make recommendations to the Club Executive, who must approve all winners. The awards are presented at the end of season RAPC Award Banquet. Please make your nominations using the yellow forms at the back of the room or by email to: awards@raphotoclub.ca.
